赛车手已经试过各种手段,以便在比赛中赢得先机,但是你是否想到,仅仅通过改变赛车手眼中看到的光线颜色,来达到这一目的?光源供应商欧司朗与宝马汽车运动有限公司,联手推出一系列解决方案,来帮助赛车手和他的队友保持注意力集中。他们首先在纽伯格林赛道24小时拉力赛(Nurburgring 24 Hours Race)做了测试,因为夜间环境对这些解决方案,具有独特的挑战。该解决方案的最迷人部分是一付LED眼镜。它可以通过改变颜色和光线强度,来使赛车手准备好开始夜间比赛,并且使他们在休息之后,可以比平常更快进入最佳状态。比如,红色可以使人亢奋,而偏蓝的白色可以让肌体尽快被唤醒。欧司朗也在赛车的公共区域和车壁控制中心等处,安装了特殊光线,好让赛车手的队友也能够感受到光线的效果。宝马车队通过这种光线解决方案,改装了两台M6 GT3赛车,其中一台获得所在级别的第四名,而另一台没有到达终点。

采埃孚开发配备集成式中心气囊的座椅
因为不再需要方向盘和油门踏板,自动驾驶汽车将极大地改变,汽车的内部结构,这样其内部空间将面貌一新。但是保证乘员的安全依然是第一要务。为了达成这一目的,采埃孚公司开发出来一种,配备集成式中心气囊的座椅。它可以为乘员提供保护,无论其前方有无中控台。气囊装置在座椅椅背的肩部位置,其主要功能就是防止乘员,在经受侧面撞击的时候,身体向汽车的中部弹出。

大陆集团开发了一种新的通用充电解决方案
电动汽车之所以没有大卖,其中一个原因就是由于缺少足够的充电站。而那些已经存在的充电站,充电时间长短不一,还不能同所有的电动汽车兼容。为了解决这些问题,大陆集团开发了一种解决方案,使得车辆可以在任何充电站充电。大陆的工程师取消了插头,取而代之的是,他们把电动动力总成,转化为一个通用的充电器,称作“全充电”(AllCharge),它可以在充电站处理,高达800伏和350千瓦级别的充电任务。这一系统包含一个电机和一个逆变器,来进行交直流转换,他们经过改装,以便处理充电过程中额外任务。它所拥有的唯一一个额外元件,就是直流/直流转换器,目的在于梳调到动力电池的电流。它还带给使用者一个惊喜,那就是“全充电”可以把动力电池,变成一个移动电源,来供电给笔记本电脑或者电钻。大陆将在9月份的法兰克福车展上展出这一系统。
散热器涂层可以清洁脏空气

SPECIAL LIGHTS HELP RACE CAR DRIVERS STAY FOCUSED
Racers have tried all kinds of tricks to gain a competitive edge, but could it really be as simple as the color of light they’re looking at? Lighting supplier OSRAM has teamed up with BMW Motorsport to provide it with a number of solutions to help drivers and their team stay alert and focused. And they first tested them out at the Nurburgring 24 Hours Race because racing at night presents a host of unique challenges. The most intriguing solution is a set of LED glasses. They work by varying color and light brightness, which can help drivers prepare for night time driving and allow them to return to optimal performance faster after rest periods. For example, red light helps to regenerate, while white, bluish light causes the body to wake up faster and more effectively. OSRAM also installed special lighting in common areas and the pit wall control center, so the rest of the team could feel the positive effects from the lighting. The BMW team that used the lighting solutions fielded two M6 GT3 cars. One finished 4th overall in its class, while the other did not make it to the end.
BMW CREATES FUTURISTIC SCOOTER
BMW recently showed its vision for a future scooter. Called the Concept Link, it was inspired by BMW Motorrad’s Vision Next 100. But aside from its Tron-like appearance, the bike features an electric motor and battery, a bench seat that can move forward and backward, a HUD that projects useful information and a secondary display screen. BMW currently has no plans to make the Concept Link.
HOW MERCEDES IS USING X-RAYS TO IMPROVE SAFETY
Bones usually get X-rayed after a crash, but now Mercedes is turning the X-ray machine on the crashed car. It’s testing ultra-fast X-ray technology to see how safety-related parts deform during a crash, both internally and externally. The data is then put into a computer to help improve the accuracy of crash simulations. Mercedes is even working towards a day when a digital model of a human body can be used in place of a dummy. It’s end goal is to improve the forecasting quality of vehicle crash simulations.
ZF SEAT WITH INTEGRATED CENTER AIRBAG
Autonomous vehicles will radically change the interior of the vehicle, since things like steering wheel and pedal may not be needed. This will really open the inside of vehicles to new configurations. But keeping occupants safe will remain a priority. And to help to do just that, the supplier company ZF developed a seat with an integrated center airbag. It can support an occupant with or without a center console. The airbag deploys from the shoulder area of the seat back and is intended to keep a passenger from moving to the center of the vehicle in an opposite side impact.

CONTINENTAL’S NEW CHARGING SOLUTION
One of the reasons electric vehicles don’t sell in big numbers, is due to a lack of charging stations. And the ones that do exist, offer varying charging times and are not compatible with all EVs. So to avoid these issues, the supplier company Continental has developed a solution to charge at any kind of station. Instead of using an adapter, engineers have turned the electric powertrain into a universal charger. Called AllCharge, it’s able to handle up to 800V and 350kW at charging stations. The system consists of an electric motor and inverter, which switch between DC and AC power, that have been modified to handle the additional task of charging. The only extra component is a DC/DC converter, which regulates power flow to the battery. And as a bonus feature, AllCharge allows the battery to be used as a mobile power source for devices like a laptop or drill. Continental will present the system at the Frankfurt auto show in September.
RADIATOR COATING CLEANS DIRTY AIR
To help meet fuel and emission targets, chemistry company BASF makes an easy spray-on catalytic coating for radiators, called PremAir that helps clean dirty air. It’s applied to both the surface and inner core of the radiator, so total surface area is actually quite large. As air passes over the radiator, the base metal oxide coating converts ground-level ozone, which is the main component of smog, into oxygen. PremAir also reduces the need for additional precious metals in catalytic converter design. BASF has more than 10 years of experience with the coating and there’s over 3 million vehicles from automakers like Volvo, Daimler and BMW on the road with PremAir technology. And BASF recently made it even better. Where PremAir lasted about 193,000 kilometers, PremAir NXT has been extended to around 241,400 kilometers and it also performs better at converting ozone. The benefit to consumers is obvious, but for automakers PremAir NXT allows them a small credit towards vehicle emission certification, which can be spread across an entire vehicle line.
