Who really believes shift schedule is a cure for turbolag? Shift schedules are important and part of the solution but don’t try to blow smoke up my skirt. If the torque and rpm are not there the best shift schedule in the world will not make any difference.

Sorry but I do not agree the Edge drives well. My wife Has chosen this as a lease but it would not be my choice. Accelerator response is inconsistent, brakes are overly aggressive. I want brakes to respond when I need them but brakes that stand the vehicle on it’s nose with a light application are not impressive.

Steering is great from my wife’s perspective. She has a propensity for oversteer and the Edge dampens that.

I do not see the performance benefits of the Edge. It would not be my first choice as a replacement for the Edge we currently lease. I sincerely hope I am wrong but I do not see it at this point. I hope I am wrong but I don’t think so.

Most interesting from my perspective is the number of failures on a new car. I own a Buick that is 8 years old and has had one recall – that did not really cause inconvenience. My wife’s edge has been parked in the shop three times for assemble and parts issues. 1) trim not correctly installed that fell off the door. – quickly addressed but still sets a bad feeling in the mind of the owner. 2) A/C stops working on the first year of the lease. Again corrected but without the use of the vehicle for 5 days. impressive! 3) Windshield wipers stop working. Car was down 5 more days while this defect was corrected. Again Impressive.
Quality does not appear to be Job ! as Ford claims. I am unimpressed.
