GMC-Terrain-Cabriolet-Denali-Autoline

Every so often we like to invite that irreverent pair from TheVirtualDriver.com, Chris Sawyer and Al Vinikour, to talk about the hottest automotive topics lighting up the interwebs. This week we do just that and find out how to deal with a driver who’s tailing you, the wrong way to transport a ladder on the highway and whether or not you really can put a gun rack on a Chevy Volt.

As usual we’ll get into the news of the week including a possible partnership between GM and PSA; the bailout bashing that the Republican presidential candidates are doling out; and Mazda’s struggle to survive. Plus, we’ve got the brand new Prius V in studio, and we’ll explain why it’s not easy being green. Jean Halliday is the voice behind AutoAdOpolis, and we’re sure she has some opinions to share about the big Super Bowl ad event. We’ll also get into the news of the week and that includes the Chicago Auto Show, and we’ll discuss the implications of the Ford management changes that went down this week. Open Line in Transition

February 7th, 2012 at 2:06pm

Open-Line-Stay-Tuned

Usually today’s the day you would be seeing a new edition of Open Line. However, we’re doing something a little different going forward. Your favorite automotive call-in show will be leaving the Autoline network and transferred to the care of Host-in-Chief Michelle Naranjo. Since the beginning, Miss MotorMouth has been here to see the show through all its various incarnations from an Autoline After Hours after party to a live weekly call-in show to a monthly podcast. We couldn’t have done it without her and the help of her co-hosts, Chelsea Sexton and Aaron Bragman. Now, Michelle will take it under her wing and be able to give the show the full attention and care it deserves.

The show is on hiatus for now while two-thirds of the hosting team is in Chicago, but you can check back here and as soon as we have news about Open Line’s new home, we’ll tell you where to find it. Thanks to Michelle, her co-hosts and all of the loyal fans who joined us for a serious dose of automotive geekery week after week after week!
