The Arteon is a very nice driving sedan. The Arteon is well engineered. The Arteon offers impressive performance. The Arteon is going to get dropped from VW’s lineup because no one is buying it.

I’ve never felt more like a child trying to get into a vehicle than like with the 2023 Ram 2500 Heavy Duty Rebel. And I think that’s saying something considering I’m 6’4” and have long legs. But this truck is huge.

Have you ever heard an enthusiast or automotive journalist refer to a vehicle as ‘a real driver’s car?’ It’s usually meant as a compliment. A way to signify to the other True Believers out there that this is a vehicle worth their consideration. While it might not have all the bells and whistles of the competition, it does the basics really well. Ride, handling, steering and comfort. I’m willing to bet that most vehicle that previously fit into this category were either sports cars or sporty sedans. But if there were ever ‘a real driver’s SUV/Crossover’ the Mazda CX-30 is it.

As you clamber into the cabin, the Lexus GX 460 looks and feels dated, old fashioned. There are lots of switches and knobs splayed across the dashboard and console. The center display screen looks like an add-on afterthought. And the powertrain doesn’t feel the least bit electrified. No doubt customers are delighted!
