This week we’re going to resist the temptation to polish up our Cockney accents, but we might just call our special guest “guv’nah” since he’s Skyping in live from the UK. Karl Ludvigsen is an independent motor industry consultant and all-around car guy. He also wrote the well-known book “Porsche: Excellence was Expected.” On the docket tonight, we’ll discuss some European goings on. Who will Fiat merge with? How will GM save Opel? Also we’ll talk about Audi’s new Traffic Jam Assist technology — a very real step toward automotive autonomy. All this and much more with John McElroy and Peter De Lorenzo the Autoextremist. Cheerio!

The Karl Ludvigsen, and the Bob Lutz episodes have explained what was going on at GM at management and engineering level. Both were fascinating.
I worked at the GM Tech Ctr. for 30 years so I had a special interest in the comments they made.

Now I understand Peter’s auto background starting as a boy. But I guess I missed how John came to be so knowledgeable. Did he have a mentor leading him to where he is today? For example. John’s interest of an auto in 1970 on Belle Isle. It was clear that he knew what, went, and where, to go see it.
I really enjoy all of the shows and guest, but Karl Ludvigsen and Bob Lutz episodes were over the top. Thanks, Jim
