For too long, Lincoln has been forgotten. Once a symbol of American luxury, the brand had devolved into a vector for rebadged Fords in recent decades. Now, with new product like the MKZ, there is hope on the horizon. On this week’s show we’ll talk to two of the people helping the Lincoln Motor Company navigate its way back to true luxury status. Janet Seymour is the Colors & Materials Design Manager for the brand and Susan Lampinen serves as Group Chief Designer of Color & Material Design for both Ford and Lincoln. We’ll be asking them, among other things, what design trends will be most important to embrace as a luxury marque. And, while there’s a lot to get into on that subject alone, we’ll also be delving into some of the latest auto news. Joining Peter De Lorenzo in studio is Jim Hall, the Majordomo for Life of 2953 Analytics.

Please have Susan and Janet from Ford come back on the program, but this time tell Jim Hall to not show up. I wanted to hear more of what Susan and Janet had to say about the topics discussed, not Jim telling us his opinion. I think Jim is on your program for his own self gratification, and is not adding to it.

Maybe it’s a generational gap (36) but most of the cars you like aesthetically to me are terrible. The CTS-V coupe is (to me) the ugliest coupe on the road today. It’s very slab sided, heavy looking, and will not age gracefully because of all of the straight edge and angles. I also don’t see any resemblance between the GTR and the C7′s greenhouse design.

Great show! I managed to find to the time to go test drive the MKZ after watching your show. I was impressed with both the exterior and interior styling.

I’m not quite ready to jump from my Cadillac CTS with AWD 304hp and an FE2 suspension to the Linclon..

All I can say is thanks for the show ….as it motivated me to drive over to the Lincoln dealer and I was impressed.

Its now on my consideration list where as before it was not. I certainly would recommend everyone shopping that segment to check out that new Lincoln.

I look forward to a more sporting 4 door coupe based off the next gen Mustang with a honking ECO boost V6 for the luxury marque..

As always great work on Autoline After Hours!

PS…Peter and Jim …you were both wrong in your opinion on the C7 greenhouse but we Corvette enthusiasts appreciate your attention whether favorable or less than favorable with regards to styling..

Checking out those performance numbers on the Z51 MRC standard stringray coupe at 56 grand is a mountain of an acheivement..

The base c7 with z51 is faster than the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Superleggera! Below are all cars under 3:00
