Can you fill me in on what’s so great about German engineering? I see great engineering as the ability to create a product with minimal compromises. A well engineered consumer product should be highly functional, reliable over a long life-cycle and an excellent value. Among the German makes only Mercedes is above average in long term reliability, Audi and especially VW are among the worst. I have never owned an FCA or VW product and I find it odd that outsiders bash FCA for reliability while praising VW for engineering.
