  1. Henry Payne Says:

A correction. I incorrectly stated on the program that my Model 3 cannot use a Chademo charger, but can use a CCS charger. It’s the other way around (Tesla has a Chedemo adapter, not CCS). Though, given Tesla’s extensive netwrok, I’ve only use Tesla superchargers.

  2. Mark Garnett Says:

Interesting this was amongst several mistakes and errors.
And of course only applies to USA. Elsewhere (eg whole of Europe) Tesla use the euro-version of CCS (type 2 + CCS) so a model 3 can use the Tesla network plus any CCS. So it means however big public networks get; Tesla will always have access to more than any other brand!

  3. Nate Says:

Worst episode in a long time. Some guy talking about his Tesla for an entire hour… As if there wasn’t plenty of places on the internet already to read about that.

2, I have to disagree; while it was another owner Tesla review, the candidness of Henry’s review was fair and not totally biased about how great the Tesla is. The negatives were presented, discussed and applied (as well as the positive aspects). Personally, I’m not a Tesla fan but I found this review well represented of the whole experience. And remember Henry’s heavy use as a track car brought more perspective to the review.

p.s. 1, Henry, hope I didn’t put any words in your mouth.

Seems that the comments got transposed; my comment is in regards to Nate (now comment #3).

In reply to Nate; I think it was useful to dig deep into the worlds most popular EV, especially on a Detroit focused combustion obsessed podcast. Many listeners/watchers may still be oblivious to what is happening in the rest of the world (they market this as a world-view podcast); EVs are coming and you won’t be able to stop them this time, drivers and owners love them and not for environmental reasons but total cost of ownership and more fun. The only reason many EV enthusiast come across as Tesla obsessives, is that Tesla are still the only company that has delivered compelling product in useful numbers. It doesn’t matter if the mid-west doesn’t care because the rest of the world is moving ahead and anyone who switches to full battery EV is unlikely to switch back so best to try one (as potential owner/driver) and embrace them (if your job depends on the auto industry).
