  1. Drew Says:

Regarding the exterior styling on the CR-V, I see similarities to the VW Tiguan and Nissan Rogue. Only the taillamps say ‘Honda’. The interior looks cheaper than the prior generation CR-V, IMHO. Sean, will my initial impressions improve when I see and sit in the real thing?

  2. Lambo2015 Says:

The news on VW, just sounds fishy. A new program launch is around 36 months so how does a delay in anything push it back an additional 36 months? Sounds like a purposeful delay.

  3. Sean McElroy Says:

@Drew – I’m not sure. I haven’t seen it in person yet either. But I think you’re on to something. The new CR-V has a more mainstream look, which why it probably looks the other models you mentioned, and there’s not much to the design that says ‘Honda.’

  4. Wim van Acker Says:

@2 I am with you, this does not add up.

  5. wmb Says:

The Panasonic’s new battery chemistry and Mahle’s new EV motor both sound very impressive! My question is, how close are they to being introduced to the market, or are they still in the planning and research stages?

  6. Kit Gerhart Says:

Sean, you say the Ioniq 6 has a “large trunk opening.” Do you mean it’s a hatchback, with an opening that includes the rear window? If so, it could be appealing to me, if it has a nearly flat floor with the back seat folded down.

  7. Ukendoit Says:

I was trying to find more info on VW’s Cariad issues, but it is still vague. Sounds like one main difference between versions E1.2 and E2.0 might be the autonomous driving. I could see that causing delays, but not three years. Sounds like E1.2 isn’t fully ready yet either, but shouldn’t take as long as E2.0.
I also found out cariad is a Welsh word for “love”. VW’s probably not loving it right now.

  8. Vic Maslanka Says:

Where’s the CR-V PHEV for the US market? Missing out on the sales opportunity. Toyota sold 27,707 RAV4 Prime PHEVs in 2021.
