Bob Wilson says
The best way to explain a Plug-in Hybrid, it costs 1/3 as much as gas around town. The problem is abysmally low charge rates.
A 3-4 kW L2 charge rate is too slow, 7 kW should be the minimum to add 30 miles range an hour. Worse, a fast DC rate limited to 50 kW is impractical for even out-and-back trips. For example, my long gone 2017 Prius Prime: 3.5 kW L2 charging and no fast DC charging. In contrast, my 2014 BMW i3-REx had 7 kW L2 and 50 kW fast DC charging.
BTW, Kudos for adding comments to After-Hours.
Enjoy the holiday! I will.
