Will Scout Motors be competing with Ford on this platform?
Awesome discussion today, very thoughtful. This is why i enjoy autoline and am a patreon, even though i’m mostly a passive participant. Thank you
very premature discussion, as far as we know, Ford is in EV production HELL, losing billions and billions of 4 every year, AND every new year is WORSE than the last one, according to FORD’s OWN numbers.
The announcement was pure PR bullsheet.
Guys, great discussion, but I have to agree with Gary (31 minute video mark). The 5 billion could be better spend by revising the Mach-E and F150 Ev architecture to lower costs of these vehicles both in design and manufacturing. BTW- I did not see any data from Ford on how much will consumers pay to insure and repair these vehicles after an accident? The other problem is the USA charging infrastructure that will not be there in two years given the rise and growth of Cloud data computing centers and Bitcoin Mines.I would guess that the power utilities are in no position to be able to keep-up in both power generation and transmission and badly needed grid infrastructure updates to handle future power demands. Maybe EREVs is the right way for the future?
