Kirk Steudle from the Michigan Department of Transportation spoke this morning about connected and automated vehicles. When asked if Michigan is ready for level 4 and 5 automated vehicles he stated “the technology is close, the public is not.” The slides show where Michigan stands in terms of automation and what is to come moving forward. #internyazaki #CARMBS

Today I was able to attend an awesome presentation titled “Connected and Automated Vehicles: Technology”. After the presentation I was able to talk to Danny Shapiro from NVIDIA, which is a company that has done a lot of work with software in video games. One of the questions I asked him was what he would consider to be the overlap between video game codes and codes for autonomous vehicles, his answer was not surprising to me, in which there’s a large crossover between the two. I also asked about the public’s fear of AI and he believes that once people are more educated on AI it will become more accepted. Very interesting and thought provoking presentation! #internyazaki #CARMBS

Spent the morning learning about upcoming technologies for automated vehicles such as AI from @nvidia and the use of GPU’s and also the cyber security associated with it from Karamba. #internyazaki #carmbs
