#InternYazaki: Turbocharger Benefits, the Sustainability of Mobility & More at CAR MBS 2018

July 31, 2018 by John McElroy

Another interesting presentation I attended was “Will your self driving vehicle need a license?” One of the main issues discussed during the presentation was the regulations that will be the states responsibility to create. If different states allow different levels of autonomy what will happen when an autonomous vehicle crosses state lines where two different levels of autonomy are allowed? There were many different views on this and I’m interested how the government will handle the situation when the time comes! #internyazaki #CARMBS

Autoline is partnering with Yazaki to offer a unique perspective of the 2018 CAR Management Briefing Seminars. During the week of CAR MBS, Yazaki interns will be posting their insights to Instagram and Twitter using #InternYazaki as well as Snapchat. We’ll be sharing some of the most interesting of those posts right here on Autoline.tv, so check back often. The opinions and reports from the intern correspondents are their own and do not reflect the editorial position of Autoline.

Venkat Sumantran, Chairman of Celeris Technologies, spoke this morning about the sustainability of mobility. “The average car has a footprint of 110 square feet, which if turned into real estate would be worth $200,000-$500,000.” He talked about the emission effects on air quality which is shown in the slides. Very interesting and relevant in today’s fast moving automotive world! #internyazaki #CARMBS

I drive a @honda Civic with a turbocharger and love it! This makes it cool to hear Craig Balis from Honeywell talk about all the emissions and fuel saving benefits from turbochargers. #internyazaki #carmbs
