I wouldn’t say autonomous will be something that will distinguish the luxury brands for very long.
Like the internet…there will be an exponential reaction to it. Autonomous technology is vehicle agnostic. It will only be marketing that keeps it on the luxury cars.
The expensive ground work has been completed on most cars. Drive-By-Wire is available on the majority of cars. Making a drive-by-wire car autonomous isn’t difficult. I would guess it is almost plug and play. Bolt on the autonomous sensors/computer and plug in to the vehicle drive-by-wire system.
