    Sandy said he thinks by 2028 EVs will be 50% of sales in the US. Thats not going to happen for a number of reasons. First, the mining of raw materials for the batteries to build that many EVs isn’t there. Since all the auto companies are fighting over the limited supply of raw materials which drives the cost up. Currently the average price for EV’s is $66K. I don’t see that changing anytime soon because of the lengthy time it takes to bring more mining online. Recycling will help but that will take 15 to 20 years to have a big enough impact to start driving the cost of batteries down.

    The average household income is $66K in the US. How are they going to afford an EV? The kid that Sandy is talking is going to be in high school in 2028. He doesn’t have $66K for an EV. In 2030 he will be in college, and he still doesn’t have $66K for an EV?
