Ram EV Pickup Gets Range Extender – CES 2023

The call it the Paradigm Breaker. The Ram EV pickup will get a range-extending IC engine to provide class leading range for electric pickups. You’ll be able to tow long distances without range anxiety. Ram is not divulging technical details on the truck yet, but it unveiled a concept at CES, the Revolution BEV Concept, and Mike Koval, the CEO of Ram, talks about what it means for the future of the brand.

To further follow-up on all what Mr. Koval was saying about all the features, what about work trucks that are fitted with special beds/tool racks, etc? Do you think the upfitters will still have a place to do Ram trucks? e.g. Knapheide

I bet the aftermarket/upfitters would have even more to offer for the RAM, since this appears to be a separate bed with a midgate; they could offer some bed options that ignore the midgate functionality and some that get really creative with it. I would expect it would be more difficult to upfit a future Chevy (or Honda, Hyundai, Tesla, etc) truck, since they appear to have a solid body panel between the cab & “bed”.
