Autoline Daily Insight – Achates Power: Twice the Fuel Economy Without the Cost

July 8th, 2015 at 5:00pm

In each edition of Autoline Daily Insight we get in-depth analysis from insiders and experts on the issues that drive the news in global automotive industry.

David Johnson says to forget prohibitively expensive batteries and absent alternative fuel infrastructure. He’s the President & CEO of Achates Power, a company that has spent $100 million developing an engine that he believes will be a gamechanger for the industry. He explains that after 11 years of facing down naysayers who said it couldn’t be done, the technology is in the hands of paying customers like the U.S. Army. Moreover, Achates has just opened a new facility in the Motor City where it will develop further applications for the engine.

For more information about how Achates Power technology works, check out our extended interview.

John I just came across an article in OFF-HIGHWAY ENGINEERING 02/15 regarding a rotary SI/CI engine made by LIQUIDPISTON. Please look into this for future technologies similar to ACHATES POWER. THANKS
