There are so many parts of this multi-faceted topic I’d love to dive into. But here is the most important part of it, that I see.

Nationalist pride will say that all manufacturing ‘should’ be done in the US. Okay, whatever. Trump gets your vote because of that.

Next, the complaint comes because the educational system is ‘failing’ to deliver enough engineers to actually operate/maintain factories as it is. A growth possibility is getting to be very hard.

So how does someone support Trump, when he is literally destroying education system in the US, as we speak?

It’s cute and all to say ‘well, they need to be more efficient’. Sure, whatever. We really need to be honest here. The US does not treat teachers well in the first place. They haven’t for decades. It is often viewed by teachers as the job with baked-in no-win situations. And those get dumped on them daily.

Teachers are the ones who have to deal with all of today’s societal problems, essentially, at the tip of the spear! And the current administration thinks that educations should be cut even more? That is beyond counterproductive. It will stifle growth. It will guarantee failure, on the education front.

We also need to be honest. Some corporation coming in to invest in Post Secondary schooling, is never going to be able to replace an honest broad based primary and secondary education system that is well funded, and looks out for the wellbeing and advancement of every student. They are only ever going to harvest the ones at the top, use them for their purposes, and just like the government’s latest move, let the rest of those kids fall by the wayside.

So many issues the US is currently struggling with, fall directly at the feet of income inequality, and an educational system that does not get the respect it deserves. Until the US addresses that, none of those tariffs and ‘bringing manufacturing home’ will fix a thing.
