John, THANK YOU for pointing out the HUGE fact that the Auto industry gets hammered over the past few DECADES about emissions. We never hear about the feds/EPA and CARB, going after Shipping, airlines, coal factories and other countries around the world, like China and India, and their LACK of regulation.
The Auto industry is VERY unfairly “picked on”
I went and found the Cars.com 2025 American-made Index study, and the study measures the percentage of content made in the US, not USMCA (Canada/US/Mexico) content.
I am in the market for a new vehicle, and the main motivator for me of buying directly from a manufacturer or through Amazon is getting rid of the hassle and shenanigans of the F&I office, trying to sell me an extended warranty, paint protection, fabric protection, dent and ding packages, wheel and tire protection, LoJack, pulsing third brake lights, etc.
They offer a good price on the vehicle, and then try to pad their margins with a bunch of stuff I don’t want.
