What if you ripped out the interior of a car and rethought a whole new way to do it? That’s exactly what Yanfeng did. No instrument panel. No “steering wheel” or at least no what you’d think a steering wheel is. Jeff Stout, executive director, shows the most radical interior you’ve ever seen.
George Ri says
For an AV to still offer the capability for you to drive at times, I like what they have come up with. But for an AV it falls for far short of what people would want and expect. If you have more than 2 people you are going to want to face them. If you are eating food or playing a card game, you would need a table. If you want to sleep, you need a place to lay down. If you want a mobile office, you need table, large screen, printer/scanner, mouse. If you have kids doing one thing, the adults might want to be doing something else. The companies that can make the most versatile interiors will be the biggest winners in the transition to AVs. The most versatile interiors will most likely lead to vehicles that look more like a minivan because of the additional space the interior will provide.
